Medsin is a national network of students
that are interested in global health. There are Medsin branches at many
universities in the UK, which organise
activities at a local level. Medsin
is the UK part of the International
Federation of Medical Students' Association
(IFMSA), though students from any discipline
are welcome to become involved.
Medsin Southampton
The committee of Medsin Southampton meets on:
Wednesday evenings at 6pm in Boldrewood,
seminar room 5.
We
alternate business meetings with meetings
based on particular topics of interest.
Anyone is welcome to come along to any
meeting. We also
have several social events each
term, such as "random pot luck supper".
In 2008-09 Medsin
Southampton are
concentrating on global health education
by organising a monthly series of talks
with speakers from the university, the
hospital and beyond.
For further information please see the
Events
page.
In previous years, Medsin Southampton has
concentrated on fundraising. In 2007-08 we
raised over £2000 for “Wish for Africa”,
www.wishforafrica.org,
a charity supporting sustainable healthcare
developments in Africa.
Please see the
project page for information about projects
running at University of Southampton.
